Careers to Pursue if You Value Justice

When selecting a career, you want to find something that aligns with your values and beliefs in order to increase your passion for your career. If you care deeply about justice, you need to consider jobs that allow you to foster this passion and can help you make a difference.

Journalist

As a journalist, you have an opportunity to keep people informed. This alone can help you to inspire justice. Through your writing, you can share stories and injustices and inspire others to take a stand or make a change. You can take this a step further by working as an investigative journalist. In this position, you can investigate crime, corruption, etc., and bring it to the public’s attention. You can show the world where injustices lie and expose them for all to see. Often, people look to the media to know what they should do to make a change and create a more just world. Being a journalist allows you to give people direction and help them know what changes need to be made.

Defense Attorney

An excellent way to create more justice is by working in the legal system. Unfortunately, there are many cases where people are misrepresented or mistreated and they need someone to assist them. If you want to make a difference, then you should work as a defense attorney. You can help people who can’t help themselves and you can fight for them to have a better outcome for their case. A public defender represents those that can’t afford their own defense. This means you can give help to those who ordinarily wouldn’t receive any. You would be able to ensure these people are justly treated and given the same opportunity as anyone else.

Social Worker

Social work is a growing field and it opens you up to a variety of career options. You can find social workers helping in almost every area of life to make sure people have the resources and help they need in order to thrive. For example, social workers can work with mental health, drug addiction, poverty, homelessness, relationships, and more. There is no shortage of work you can be doing. As a social worker, you can create better situations for people and provide them with a better life.

If justice is important to you, then you need to explore careers that will allow you to encourage and inspire justice. There are plenty of options, so consider your skills and other interests. There’s a career out there for everyone.
